As a young girl growing up in Poulamon and Arichat I have some horrible memories, but it does not stop me from remembering the great ones and great people...those like the Late Eva Jane MacDonald in Poulamon, Nana to me...Niomi and Willard Fougere, The Pettipas, and I shall never forget the kindness and joy that was brought into my young life by them...I am the Daughter of Margaret Mary Doyle, who was married to Francis Doyle from Rocky Bay. He passed away when I was almost 9, a wonderful father he was. I would love to come back and see the scenery as I know its beautiful, especially Poulamon and D'Esscouse, and to also see the MacDonalds in Louisdale, Leonard & Emily and the Girls...Wonderf
ul to see this site. Some may also remember that my mother was married to Everett Covin in the late 70's early 80's..He was a blind man who was well known in Arichat and West Arihat..Would love to hear from anyone who remembers my family...Thanks

Bonjour à tous...
Lived in Sydney and Marionbridge between 1981 and 1985 working at CBC TV as a news cameraman. Scuba diver trained in Cape Breton. One of my first dives was on the "ARROW".
Came up to surface with a torn burlap bag found on the bottom... surprise content the Azimuth Circle from the "ARROW". Some body must have remove it from the tanker and inadvertently drop it to the bottom...
Travelling this coming summer (2006) Natashquan, Blanc Sablon, Ste Barbe, Gros Morne, Sydney and my first return to Isle Madame, by motorcycle.
I would like someone to contact me from Isle Madame regarding bringing back this memorabilia artefact back where it belongs: In a museum...

GREAT SITE. I WAS BORN IN CAPE LA RONDE, MY PARENTS WERE PIUS AND MARY PETITPAS. MY BROTHER FREDDY PETITPAS LIVES IN WEST ARICHAT. MY LATE HUSBAND JOHN WILSON AND I ALSO LIVED IN WEST ARICHAT FROM 1989 TO 1994, OUR HOUSE WAS NEXT DOOR TO STELLA AND GENEVIEVE BOUDREAU. I HAVE MARRIED AGAIN AND I NOW LIVE IN THE TOWN OF OLIVER B.C. NEAR PENTICTON AND KELOWNA. LOVELY MILD WEATHER ALL YEAR AND LOTS OF ORCHARDS IN OUR AREA BUT NOTHING BEATS THE BEAUTIFUL AREA OF ISLE MADAME AND THE TERRIFIC PEOPLE WHO LIVE THERE. WE HOPE TO VISIT SOON.
