St. Anne Community and Nursing Care Centre Emergency
Out-Patient Department is a Department of Health , level 4
Emergency. The Emergency Department consists of three Emergency
Treatment Rooms, Laboratory Department, X-Ray Department, Health
Records Department and the Diabetic Education Centre.
Treatment Room # 1 is the main emergency trauma area as well as
Respiratory and Cardiac emergencies. This area is equipped with
standard resuscitative equipment for monitoring and managing
cardiac and trauma emergencies.
Treatment Room # 2 serves as the area for orthopedics, casts
and minor surgery. This area in addition to cardiac and
respiratory emergencies has cast application and removal equipment
and First Aid and is set up for suturing and minor surgical
procedures.
Treatment Room # 3 is set up for Ob/Gyn, and clinics such as
Mental Health, Internal Medicine and any other space required for
clinics.
A Registered Nurse will “Triage” all patients requesting
emergency care. St. Anne Centre follows the Canadian Triage Acuity
Scale (C.T.A.S.) to determine the patients’ level of
seriousness.
Registration is necessary to create a record of a patient’s
visit. Patients will be asked for information about themselves,
their family, their doctor and Health Insurance.
