The Isle Madame Boat Club

IMBC is a non profit boat club and marina owned and operated by its members. Guest berths are available for boats less than 50 feet in length with a draft of less than 7 feet. The marina is a safe space tucked into the south side of Arichat Harbour on historic Isle Madame offering power, water and club house facilities. The safe harbour, Arichat is one of the oldest communities in Nova Scotia and a port of call whose appeal dates back to the early 1700’s.

The area served as an ancient summer encampment for the Mi’kmaq, a summer fishing location for the Basques dating back to the 16th century and later a settlement for Acadians, Huguenots and Irish, the area remains populated with many different ethnic groups. Arichat Harbour achieved international stature in the early 1800’s as one of the largest ports of registry primarily due to it being one of the three deepest natural harbours on the eastern seaboard of the North America.

Located some 10 nautical miles from the port of Canso, 20 nautical miles from the Canso Causeway and some 20 nautical miles from the Saint Peters Canal, it is a logical stop-over point for sailors and boaters traversing Chedabucto Bay or on their way to Halifax, or the Bras D’or Lakes.

IMBC is a member of  Nova Scotia Yachting Association (NSYA)
